At this moment there is a failure to Twinfield online accounting. The error concerns the C1 cluster of Twinfield. When you are logged in Twinfield you see in the address bar of your browser C1 or C2, which is the cluster in which your administration is running.

What is going on?
After the update on May 14th were users work with Twinfield without problems. On May 15th users encountered problems when logging in and using the accounting application. This has to do with the conversion and extension of several tables in Twinfield. As a result, requests are made to Twinfield not always interpreted correctly. This misinterpretation leads to an error and after that, the user is automatically logged off. Information that was entered in the session will be lost.

How do we take care?
On Tuesday, May 15th and the morning of Wednesday, May 16th we have a hotfix installed on various servers, but this has only partially solved the problem. At this moment, programmers and database specialists working hard to find a solution that solves the problem on all servers and for all users.

CWM Chartered Accountants (CWM), today announces that it is using the Twinfield online accounting solution to provide its clients with an enhanced service, enabling them to view and share financial information at anytime, from anywhere. By actively involving its clients in the use of Twinfield, CWM is able to improve collaboration, speeding up tasks and freeing up time to provide additional services such as consultancy and business advice.

CWM is a proactive, innovative accounting practice which always aims to be at the forefront of new technologies that will benefit its customers. Based in Surrey, the business specialises in providing online accounting, payroll services and auditing to both private and corporate clients.

Mark Cooper, principal of CWM, comments, “Online accounting is an important part of the service that we provide to our clients. We are not only using Twinfield internally within our own organisation but are also actively encouraging our customers to use the software themselves. Having all parties operate on one central accounting system means that the accountant and client can share information in real-time from any location and if any issues or queries arise, these can be quickly dealt with. By sharing data using an online system there is no need for the physical transfer of invoices and other records, which increases efficiencies and minimises the chance of errors.”

Cooper continues, “There are clear cost and time savings associated with everyone using the same system. The ability to complete tasks quickly and easily means that we can devote more time to providing added value services to our clients, including general business advice and IT consultancy.”

CWM has also recently integrated an invoice scanning service into its Twinfield solution. By scanning the invoices into Twinfield the client simply logs into the solution to view the invoice and authorise it. This way the client doesn’t have to retain any paper copies and should the accountant need to look at a particular document in more detail, it is easy to drill down into the record and find additional information.

Cooper concludes, “The Twinfield solution is an ideal fit for our business and we are keen to move more of our existing clients on to the system as I do see online accounting as the way forward. As times continue to be tough for all industries, businesses are looking to their accountant for more than just monthly or quarterly accounts production – and using Twinfield is enabling us to provide added value services that make a real difference to our clients’ business.”

iPhone app enables Twinfield users to automatically record time and mileage.

Online accounting services provider Twinfield has launched a new iPhone application that will enable users to automatically record time and mileage. The application, which is free to download from the iPhone app store, will improve the speed with which invoices can be sent by also automatically filing these expenses claims.

“As a consultant, I spend a lot of time on the road,” explains Twinfield user, Ralf de Graaf, owner of Collate Consultancy. “The Twinfield application will turn my time-recording and the submission of my expenses claims into something that I can quickly and easily do in-between appointments. This will make invoicing so much simpler; at literally the touch of a single button, everything is taken care of.”

The application utilises a number of iPhone functions. The in-built GPS system keeps track of the route and mileage, while time and expenses can easily be assigned to the relevant project or client.

Accountancy firm Wansink & Partner, which has also implemented the new application, said, “The Twinfield application is a great tool for the ambitious and forward-thinking entrepreneur. It is also very quick and safe to use, features that are of critical importance.”

The Twinfield iPhone app is suitable for the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4.

Twinfield online accounting system provides e-florist with ‘real-time’ information on cash-flow management, forecasting and budgeting, irrespective of location- Serenata Flowers, the online retailer of flowers, chocolates and wine, has implemented Twinfield’s online accounting system to increase visibility of financial performance and impose far greater control over spend and cash flow. By using Twinfield, Serenata Flowers is able to produce and compile reports quickly and easily at less cost, whilst also providing financial staff with secure remote access to the accounting system anytime, anywhere.

Prior to working with Twinfield, Serenata Flowers was using an accounting system from Access which ran on a dedicated Server at head office. However, as Peter Ahl, Managing Director of Serenata Flowers, explains, “Whilst our previous system worked sufficiently within the office environment, it could not support us remotely. This was a major factor, as we have a number of people working in different locations nationwide, with many of our bookkeepers working from home rather than the office.”

Ahl continues, “In order to overcome this problem, we began to evaluate the online accounting solutions available. We chose Twinfield because of its ease of use, broad functionality and low cost of ownership. We could immediately see how Twinfield could benefit our business and make it easier for our accounts department to provide the business with a real-time picture of financial performance. In turn, this means that we now have a much tighter control of cash-flow management, forecasting and budgeting.”

Twinfield has also significantly reduced the amount of time that it takes to compile management reports. Ahl says, “In the past, staff would have to come into the office to input accounting information, but now all the data can be entered from any location at anytime. This was particularly useful during the recent cold snap that hit the UK, as it meant our business operations remained unaffected. Staff were simply able to work from home and continue their day-to-day tasks as if they were office-based, which was a major benefit to the business.”

Ahl concludes, “We have a great working relationship with Twinfield. The system is so simple to use that we have hardly had to contact the support team, but on the rare occasions that we have needed some assistance or have a query about the system we have found the Twinfield team to be very responsive and really helpful.”

About Serenata Flowers

Serenata flowers is one of the UKs leading online florists. Serenata sources flowers direct from growers and auctions around the world and ships directly to consumers, thereby cutting down the time in transit for fresher flowers. Serenata is an award winning online flower business, recognised by the dTi, Web-user magazine (Gold award) and Which (Best Mothers Day flowers 2011) for its excellent flower quality and business practices.
Business Stream is the non-domestic retail arm of Scottish Water, which was launched following the introduction of competition into the Scottish water industry in 2008. As part of the deregulation, both companies were required to operate separate financial systems by the end of 2009. Business Stream wanted a flexible accounting solution that could deliver the high level of functionality the company had previously experienced. As Business Stream does not have a large in-house IT team, an online accounting solution was the preferred choice as it minimises the need for internal IT resource, providing the functionality that the business needed in a cost effective and efficient way.

Johanna Dow, Financial Director of Business Stream, explains, “When looking for an accounting solution, we researched a number of different products including some large players such as SAP. However, Twinfield stood out as providing the most value for money because for a single monthly subscription we have real-time management information available through a web browser. In contrast, the SAP software would have cost us substantially more to implement and there would have been ongoing support and maintenance costs. With Twinfield, all of these costs are eliminated which saves us approximately £50,000 per annum.”

Dow adds, “The system is really easy to use, so much so that we are able to do all of our staff training in-house, which keeps training time and costs to a minimum. Another advantage of the system is that it is very flexible, enabling us to make changes to account structures, add new suppliers and make payments quickly and easily.”

Dow concludes, “We have received a fantastic service from Twinfield, and we are looking forward to exploiting the full functionality of the system now that we have gone live.

Kevin McLoughlin, UK Country Manager, Twinfield, comments, “Online solutions and Software as a Service (SaaS) is often labelled as something that only SMEs are able to benefit from. However, as Business Stream clearly shows, one of the major advantages of Twinfield is its scalability and agility in flexing to suit the size of the business – making it advantageous for all. As SaaS continues to become a core-part of modern business operations, online accounting is set to grow significantly as larger organisations realise the potential of the cloud.”

About Business Stream

A wholly-owned subsidiary of Scottish Water, Business Stream has been formed as an arms-length company with its own board and independent management team. Its goal is to provide a first class service for business customers and respond to the challenge of other established utility companies entering the new, competitive market which opened on 1 April 2008.

Under the Water Services etc. (Scotland) Act 2005, Scottish Water had to split its operation into wholesale (Scottish Water) and retail (Business Stream) units. Although ostensibly remaining a part of Scottish Water, Business Stream is a new business working completely independently of its parent company in order to ensure fair and transparent retail practice under the rules of the new competitive marketplace for business customers. The Business Stream website can be found at www.business-stream.co.uk

Goodman Jones LLP, chartered accountants, is using Twinfield’s online accounting software to transform the way it operates and enhance its service to clients. The implementation of Twinfield now allows the practice to connect with clients at any time and from anywhere. In addition, the ‘self-learning’ functionality built into the Twinfield system enables significant efficiency improvements to be realised compared to traditional accounting software.

Goodman Jones was established more than 75 years ago in Central London. Today, it has 14 partners and more than 70 staff, but stays close to its roots of serving the owner managed busi¬ness. The firm prides itself on its early and innovative adoption of leading edge technology and it sees Twinfield as a major component of its growth strategy over the next two years.

Commenting on the decision to implement Twinfield, Larry Phillips, Managing Partner, Goodman Jones, explains, “Twinfield opens up a new chapter in the development of our services and the way in which they’re delivered. We strive to get close to our clients because we know the key to mutual suc¬cess is in the quality of the relationship between us. We had previously been using traditional client/server accounting solutions but these were high maintenance. Twinfield has fantastic reporting and analysis capabilities, the system is incredibly reliable and cost effective, and we can easily add users and new functionality as we continue to grow.”

Phillips continues, “Clients want a good deal and we want to offer that. We want to spend more time on ‘value add’ work while leaving clients with the widest possible choices in how we interact. The Twinfield solution not only allows us to meet that objective, but it also means we can concentrate on what we do best – delivering solid business advisory services, developed from a bedrock of accurate, reliable real-time information.”

Using Twinfield, Goodman Jones and its clients have nothing to install, nothing to maintain and the service is available 24×7 from any Internet capable device. This makes an enormous difference to time spent on IT maintenance and client book-keeping management. In addition, clients’ accounts always reflect the current position because there is only one version of the books.

Twinfield has also played a critical role in helping Goodman Jones to service its international client base. Philip Woodgate, the Goodman Jones partner who heads the Business Systems division, says, “Twinfield is the answer to many of the issues we face, and it’s been particularly impressive in helping us to handle international clients who are dealing in several different currencies. We have a number of international clients, as well as staff who are based remotely, and we can now connect our people and our clients at anytime, from anywhere. The ease with which this can be done is simply not possible with traditional accounting systems.”

Woodgate continues, “With Twinfield, clients can now ask questions over the phone while we share the same information. That’s so much more efficient. The IT headache is removed leaving the focus on meaningful business discussions.

Moving forward, Goodman Jones plans to further extend the functionality of the Twinfield system by introducing intelligent document scanning and bank statement imports. Woodgate says, “As well as the inherent benefits of working online with clients, Twinfield has tools that improve the efficiency of record keeping and reporting. These new innovations should enable us to further automate what are usually labour intensive tasks, enabling us to offer new services and move into new market segments that would have been unthinkable with traditional accounting software.”

Online accounting services provider Twinfield has launched a new iPhone application that will enable users to automatically record time and mileage. The application, which is free to download from the iPhone app store, will improve the speed with which invoices can be sent by also automatically filing these expenses claims.“As a consultant, I spend a lot of time on the road,” explains Twinfield user, Ralf de Graaf, owner of Collate Consultancy.
